Kuaikan Manhua (快看漫画) : China's leading mobile comics app for scroll-friendly webtoons by Gen Z creators.

Kuaikan Manhua started in 2014, when cartoonist Annie Chen's webcomic about her startup went viral on Weibo and grew into a mobile library of original Chinese comics.

Readers scroll vertical strips designed for phone screens and follow serialized originals from a large community of Chinese artists.

By 2021 the platform reported more than 340 million registered users and close to 50 million monthly actives, with Generation Z making up roughly nine in ten of them.

Does Kuaikan censor its comics?

Kuaikan complies with China's content regulations. BL (Boys' Love) content is heavily restricted, violence is toned down, and political content is avoided. Some popular comics are edited compared to original creator versions.

How is Kuaikan different from Webtoon?

Kuaikan pioneered vertical-scroll mobile-first comics in China before Webtoon expanded there. Kuaikan focuses on original Chinese content while Webtoon has more Korean webtoons. Kuaikan's user base is predominantly young Chinese women aged 16-25.

Is Kuaikan Manhua available in English?

Kuaikan has an international version called Kuaikan on app stores. It offers English translations of popular Chinese webcomics. The China version has a much larger catalog. Both are free with ads and paid chapters.
