Baidu Netdisk (百度网盘) : China's go-to cloud drive for file storage, sharing and syncing across devices.

Baidu Netdisk is the cloud-storage arm of Baidu, China's biggest search firm. Like a Western drive it holds photos, documents and videos in one account; its links are how Chinese users commonly hand files to each other.

Upload via web, desktop or mobile apps, preview common file types and share folders. Free tiers cap space and download speed; paid memberships lift both.

The interface is mainly in Chinese, and overseas users need a paid membership for workable speed and capacity.

Why is Baidu Netdisk so popular despite limits?

It has hundreds of millions of users because Google Drive and Dropbox are blocked in China. It is the default file-sharing tool for Chinese internet users. The paid VIP removes speed limits and adds features. It dominates China's cloud storage market.

Is Baidu Netdisk safe for personal files?

Baidu Netdisk scans files for copyright violations and prohibited content per Chinese regulations. Files flagged as infringing are deleted. End-to-end encryption is not available. Sensitive files should not be stored here. Privacy policies comply with Chinese law.

Can I use Baidu Netdisk from the US?

Registration requires a Chinese phone number, and the interface is Chinese-only. Download speeds for free users are heavily throttled (often 100KB/s or less). Paid VIP plans remove speed limits. International alternatives may be better.
