V2EX : A forum where developers, designers and startup people share tech and career talk.

V2EX launched in March 2006 calling itself "way to explore," a community of start-ups, designers, developers and other creative workers, built by founder Livid on his open-source Project Babel forum.

Named "nodes" for tech, Q&A and careers hold members' projects, news and job leads. House rules bar piracy talk, low-information replies and reposts without credit.

Threads run almost entirely in Chinese; the interface switches between English and Simplified Chinese. Reading needs no account; posting does.

Can I find jobs on V2EX?

Absolutely. V2EX has a dedicated (Cool Jobs) node where companies post tech positions. It is one of the most popular tech recruiting channels in China, especially for startups and mid-sized tech companies. Remote and overseas positions are occasionally listed.

Is V2EX censored?

V2EX has lighter censorship than major Chinese platforms but still removes posts violating Chinese law. Political discussions are actively moderated. The site's (deep water) node contains some politically themed content that stays within acceptable boundaries.

Can I access V2EX from outside China?

For sure. V2EX is fully accessible from overseas and has a significant international Chinese user base. Registration is open internationally. The platform uses Cloudflare and loads quickly globally. Most discussions are in Chinese, though English posts occasionally appear.

What kind of community is V2EX?

V2EX is a tech-focused community for programmers, designers, and IT professionals. It features topic-based nodes for discussions on programming, startups, careers, and gadgets. Known for high-quality technical discussions and a strict anti-low-quality-content policy.
